Fundamentally, I believe we as humans all strive to do the best we can. We all possess the desire to thrive. Our individual internal strengths contribute to our natural resiliency, helping us navigate through life’s challenges. At times, an individual’s journey endures obstacles that are not easily tackled alone. Being human and juggling life’s difficulties can be challenging. Needing guidance to learn new skills and support to foster your strengths is okay. I enjoy supporting and guiding children, teens, parents and families in exploring their needs and identifying strategies to help improve their overall well-being. I will come alongside you, working to grow strength and resiliency, one step at a time.

For over 12 years, I have counseled children, teens, parents and families to navigate the challenges that arise. I approach counseling with a humanistic, strength-based, client centered and collaborative framework. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Mindfulness, Sources of Strength and Perinatal Mental Health. Over my career I have experience in  supporting children and adolescents to gain insight and skills to overcome their emotional and behavioral challenges. Moreover, helping families move through ruptures that have created difficulties to connection and growth. I am also passionate about supporting people on their perinatal journey and supporting families postpartum. I grew up surrounded by animals, including horses and dogs, and have witnessed their healing power.

I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with individuals and families and value the opportunity to be a part of their journey.

I see counseling as a process in which you and I come to understand and trust one another upon a foundation of respect and connection. We work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, create opportunities for growth, develop future goals for an improved life, and work together to bring these goals to fruition. My goal is to have the counseling room be a safe place for you to open up and seek healing for the hurts you have experienced.

I focus on supporting children, adolescents and families with trauma and behavioral challenges. I have witnessed the anxiety and social challenges children carry with them from our collective pandemic experience and I want to use my skills to help the Alpha and Z generations to process, heal, and gain necessary tools for moving forward.

I have over 13 years of clinical experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families. I have extensive knowledge on at-risk, runaway, and homeless youth issues as well as years of experience. I have a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Modalities I am trained in include: Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy); DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy); TF-CBT (Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and CPS (Collaborative Problem Solving).

I am here for children that need help learning to communicate their feelings to the teenager seeking a safe space to a parent needing support with a struggling child. I look forward to working with you and your family.

Your journey is important, and part of your journey is discovering who you are. Therapy is a beautiful voyage of self-discovery where you get to explore your thoughts and emotions in a safe and nurturing environment. It's a place where you can feel understood, validated, and heard without any fear of judgment. You are an expert in your lived experiences and my goal is to help you process those experiences and build your most authentic self. Every person is unique in the way they experience life, and how they choose to process it. My approach is person-centered which focuses on understanding a person based on their unique needs and strengths. We would work collaboratively as a team to understand your strengths, and challenges, and how to build resilience that will help you overcome challenges in the future. I focus on empowering adolescents and young adults to discover their true potential and build unbreakable strength. Using trauma-focused and person-centered approaches allows me to build an environment where you can unpack issues that may have been weighing you down for far too long. It takes a lot of courage to take that first step toward mental well-being, and I commend you for it. It is your choice to take the next steps towards a new beginning, and if you believe I could be useful in your journey I would gladly walk this path with you.
